RESTLESS HEARTS
12 COMPOSITIONS FOR SOLO PIANO
Album Notes and Reviews
from New Age Magazine, 2002
With this Album Gary continues to give us joyful and heartfelt music. With strength and poignancy, "Restless Hearts" presents the work of an experienced composer and skilled performer who creates with conviction and imagination.
Drawing on the improvisational freedom of jazz, Gary has developed a keyboard style that draws the listener into the depth and understanding his music so beautifully conveys.
I often sit at my desk and listen to your Albums, Restless Hearts and Spring is in the Poet. They, in particular, have become important remedies for the harsh realities of the news and current events I hear on the radio or see on TV. I never tire of listening, and your compositions reach deep into the heart and mind, making my tasks—like replying to emails or solving design problems—more enjoyable.

SPRING IS IN THE POET
ACOUSTIC PIANO SOLOS
Press Release: April 1, 2001
“Spring Is In The Poet” is a recording of acoustic grand piano improvised compositions written and performed by Gary Sill. The music is sympathetic to both eastern and western styles and sounds. Yet the variety of style and convention only serves to guide the listener into a unique world of half dreams and rhythmic structures that feel deeply familiar, even though Sill’s unmistakable keyboard style remains fresh and energetic.
This music finds stillness in rhythm; activity in ambiance. The sense of timelessness is immediate. Sill’s lifelong musical experience and love of the piano create, effortlessly, an emotional landscape in which each of the 11 improvised compositions appears to unfold a story—an explanation of our own inner experiences and shared aspirations.
